Binhai New Area Employee Wage & Labor Cost Information

The average wage of a direct employee in the Binhai New area has risen from approximately RMB 1800 to 2100 per month in 2010 to RMB 2,293 in the first half 2011.  Binhai’s minimum wage was RMB 920 per month for full time employees in 2010 but just like nearly every other province, municipality or SEZ, Binhai saw its minimum wage rise in the first half of 2011.  In March of 2011 administration raised the minimum wage to RMB 1,070.  These increases in minimum wage are seen throughout China as legislation is attempting to curb China’s high inflation and raise the standard of living.  Legislature has commented that it is likely provinces, municipalities, and SEZ’s will see increases in the minimum wage through 2015.  Calculating the exact cost of a direct employee on an hourly basis involves a complex formula composed of a daily base salary, employee benefits, and taxation.
