Hubei Real Estate Information

At the end of 2009, the average rent for industrial manufacturing and warehouse facilities around Hubei’s largest city, Wuhan, was approximately RMB 15.8 per square meter, per month. In 2010, the average rent increased by five percent to RMB 16.6 per square meter per month. Rent prices for Research and Development facilities around Wuhan were much higher, at around 50 RMB per square meter, per month. Utility costs for industrial purposes rose in early 2011, due to power shortages across the nation. Manufacturing facilities throughout the past five years have been growing so quickly that China’s infrastructure are struggling to provide the necessary resources to keep up. In some cases, China has cut back hours so that electricity needs and water supply needs may be equally met. As China has struggled to meet electricity needs throughout the nation in the first half of 2011, the cost of electricity, from 2010 to 2011, increased by RMB 0.012 per kilowatt hour ($0.004 per kwh). Within the greater Wuhan area, the cost of water ranges from RMB 1.0 to RMB 1.3 per cubic meter and RMB 0.28 to RMB 1.2 per kilowatt-hour for electricity. The costs in Hubei’s Northern city of Xiangfan however, are around RMB 1.3 per cubic meter for water and RMB 0.56 to RMB 0.58 per kilowatt-hour for electricity.
