Labor Costs

Jiangsu Employee Wage & Labor Cost Information

The average wage of a direct employee in Jiangsu province is approximately RMB 1,424 per month. In 2010, Jiangsu’s minimum wage was RMB 960 per month for full time employees.  In April of 2011, Jiangsu raised their minimum wage to a range of RMB 800 to RMB 1,140.  These increases in minimum wage have been seen throughout China in years past.  In China’s twelfth five year plan, legislature stated its intent to urge provinces to increase their minimum wages through 2015 in order to combat unusually high inflation and increase the standard of living.  Increases can be expected in years to come as provinces have been faithful to the five year plan thus far. Calculating the exact cost of a direct employee on an hourly basis involves a complex formula composed of a daily base salary, employee benefits, and taxation.
