Jiangsu Logistics Information

Jiangsu’s location, on the eastern coast of China surrounding the Yangtze River Delta, contributes to its strong logistics industry. Jiangsu’s freshwater ports along the banks of the Yangtze River have an annual throughput volume in excess of 114 million tons. The Port of Nanjing, China’s largest inland container port processes over 800,000 TEUs each year. Jiangsu’s seven airports provide service to major Chinese cities, as well as America, Africa, and Western Europe. Lukou Airport, in Nanjing, is eastern China’s main cargo airport. It is projected to handle 800,000 tons of airfreight per year by 2020. Most railways in Jiangsu pass through the cities of Nanjing and Xuzhou. Among these is the new Asia-Euro Continental Bridge, which connects Rotterdam in the Netherlands to Jiangsu by rail and handles more than 95 percent of international rail freight. Logistics in Jiangsu is also aided by an excellent highway network, the third longest in China, which expedites shipments throughout the province.
