Gansu Employee Wage & Labor Cost Information

The average wage of a direct employee in Gansu was approximately RMB 2,046 per month in 2010.  Partly due to the increase in minimum wage, Gansu’s average monthly wage was increased to approximately RMB 2,441.  In 2010, Gansu’s minimum wage ranged from RMB 500 to 640, depending on the classification of the employee.  However, legislation in early 2011 has been initiated to increase the minimum wage, and it increased to RMB 630 to 760.  These increases are likely to be seen for years to come as legislators have been pushed by advisors to increase them until approximately 2015 in order to offset the high inflation and to raise the standard of living in China. Calculating the exact cost of a direct employee on an hourly basis involves a complex formula composed of a daily base salary, employee benefits, and taxation.
