Hainan (SEZ) Real Estate Information

Rental prices for industrial manufacturing and warehouse facilities in Hainan Province are relatively low considering its status as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ); ranging from RMB 10 to RMB 20 per square meter, per month.  The large range is due to the specificity of the manufacturing facility which may increase or decrease the average price.  Utility costs for industrial purposes have been on the due to power shortages across the nation in early 2011. Manufacturing facilities throughout the past five years have been growing so quickly that China’s infrastructure is finding it difficult to supply the necessary resources to keep up. In some cases, China has cut back production hours so that electricity needs and water supply needs may be equally met. As China has struggled to meet electricity needs throughout the nation, the cost of electricity, from 2010 to 2011, increased by RMB 0.012 per kilowatt hour ($0.004 per kwh).  Utility costs for industrial purposes remain consistent throughout, averaging approximately RMB 1.6 per cubic meter for water and about RMB 0.58 per kilowatt-hour for electricity.
