Tianjin Manufacturing & Investment Information

Tianjin is a diversified economic hub in northern China. Tianjin’s leading industries (mobile phone, aerospace, alternative energy, and automotive production) all support its sizable shipping and logistics industry. Tianjin, which means “a port for the emperor” in Chinese, is also the fourth largest port in mainland China.  Tianjin has attracted 110 of the top 500 enterprises in the world, including Motorola, Toyota, Samsung, Nestle, and LG. The Chinese National Government has made Tianjin a top priority for economic development by outlining goals for the establishment of a special development zone in the Tianjin Binhai New Area, hoping to mimic the success of the Shanghai’s Pudong New Area and the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) near Hong Kong.
